For over 25 years now they have joined you in your homes, your cars and wherever else you can listen to a radio and brought you good news and bad news, stories that make you want to jump for joy, stories that make you cry and stories that bring out just about every emotion. They are the staff of Curtin FM's newsroom.

Usually they are students of Curtin's School of Journalism and the chief of the newsroom is a lecturer there. In charge of Curtin's newsroom for several years now is Les Welsh who prior to joining Curtin had a wealth of experience in radio newrooms across the country.

For many years now our news staff have been eagerly sought by other media newsrooms which is a compliment to the training that Les provides. Many ex Curtin (and 6NR) journalism students can be seen and heard on television and radio both in the commercial environment and the ABC.

Please come back and visit this page again. We hope to be able to bring some exciting technical developments from the newsroom soon.
